Team description

SumUp's Acquiring Operations team keeps Brazil's complex payments engine running, where every card swipe, instalment and deferred settlement has to reconcile perfectly across processors, card schemes and the Central Bank. As a full acquirer that processes a high volume of instalment transactions, SumUp relies on this team to catch the gaps between what's expected and what actually lands, before they turn into financial or regulatory risk. This role takes full ownership of reconciliation controls across clearing, settlement, receivables and interchange, working directly with providers like Cielo and Stone and the major card schemes to solve some of the trickiest puzzles in Brazilian payments.

What you'll do

• Own reconciliation controls across clearing, settlement, issuer receivables and interchange, spotting and resolving failures before they escalate

• Investigate discrepancies with processors and card schemes, including complex instalment and deferred settlement flows, and drive fixes through to resolution

• Validate and structure settlement and interchange data so Funding, Accounting and Treasury can rely on it

• Prepare and validate regulatory reports such as CADOC 3040, plus scheme reports including GOC and QMR

• Coordinate corrective actions with processors and card schemes to prevent recurring issues

You'll be great for this role if

• Strong analytical skills, with a track record of spotting patterns and root causes in complex data sets.

• Proficiency with SQL and data analysis tools, used to validate and reconcile financial information at scale.

• Experience managing stakeholders across finance, operations and payment providers while juggling multiple deadlines.

• Comfort navigating Brazilian payment flows, including installments, clearing and settlement, or a strong motivation to learn them quickly.

• Fluency in English and Portuguese, with the written clarity needed to document processes and challenge discrepancies with providers.
