How these are built

Four rules every tool on this site follows.

  • No account, no email gate

Nothing here is withheld behind a signup. A tool that holds your own arithmetic hostage for an email address is an advertisement, not a tool.

  • The working is shown

Every result comes with the expression that produced it, so you can check it, disagree with it, or reproduce it without this site.

  • No invented benchmarks

None of these tools tells you whether your numbers are good. That would require a benchmark with a stated population and period, and there is not one worth quoting yet.

  • Your numbers stay with you

All calculation happens in your browser. Nothing is transmitted, stored, or logged, and nothing you enter becomes research data.

Under consideration

What might be built next.

A tool earns a place here by doing arithmetic a reader cannot easily do themselves, and by being honest about the limits of its output. These are candidates, not commitments.

  • Offer comparison, covering the terms that are not salary
  • Layoff runway calculator
  • Job-search duration estimator
  • Salary negotiation range calculator
