Accountabilities • Monitor construction activities along pipeline rights-of-way, access roads, staging areas, and other permitted workspaces to verify compliance with environmental requirements.

• Ensure construction activities remain consistent with environmental permits, mitigation measures, approved plans, environmental procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

• Conduct and document routine environmental inspections covering erosion and sediment controls, waterbody and wetland crossings, topsoil segregation, vegetation clearing, revegetation, waste handling, spill prevention, and restoration.

• Confirm that construction remains within approved rights-of-way, environmental buffers, access routes, and other designated boundaries.

• Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and corrective actions associated with erosion and sediment controls and other best management practices.

• Identify, document, and promptly escalate environmental nonconformances, spills, unauthorized discharges, permit deviations, and other potential environmental impacts.

• Work with contractors and subcontractors to resolve deficiencies and verify timely completion and closeout of environmental action items.

• Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, photographs, permit documentation, agency correspondence, training records, and environmental tracking logs.

• Support environmental orientation and awareness training for site personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

• Participate in pre-job meetings, construction planning sessions, environmental reviews, and coordination meetings with project teams and clients.

• Provide concise daily and weekly reporting on environmental performance, outstanding issues, emerging trends, and upcoming compliance requirements.

• Monitor and support applications for environmental permits, including air, water, and waste permits.

• Assist with the development and review of compliance plans designed to address identified environmental issues.

• Provide technical guidance and training to project personnel regarding environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance procedures.

• Support project teams with environmental permitting, compliance matters, risk identification, and regulatory interpretation.

• Stay current with environmental regulations, regulatory developments, and industry best practices while promoting a proactive culture focused on protecting people, the public, property, and the environment.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance, including substantial hands-on field experience with environmental compliance activities.

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including requirements associated with the  Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA .

• Demonstrated understanding of environmental impact assessment and environmental risk assessment methodologies.

• Experience supporting construction projects and evaluating environmental compliance in active field environments is essential.

• Ability to independently assess situations, think creatively and analytically, and make timely, sound decisions in dynamic construction settings.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate requirements, findings, corrective actions, and recommendations clearly.

• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide guidance and training to employees, contractors, and project stakeholders.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate compliance documentation and inspection records.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with site managers, construction contractors, inspectors, regulatory agencies, clients, and project management teams.

• Willingness and ability to accept long-term field assignments and work in varying project locations.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
