Accountabilities • Install, program, test, repair, commission, certify, and service security, fire alarm, life-safety, and related electronic systems and equipment.

• Install and program access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.

• Execute key technical components of multiple projects, including programming, graphics development, system start-up, certification testing, customer training, closeout documentation, and ongoing technical support.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications to determine installation and repair procedures.

• Operate systems to demonstrate functionality, commission new installations, analyze performance, identify malfunctions, and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Develop and modify system programs as required and use technical expertise to identify effective solutions to non-routine problems.

• Provide technical support and training to customers while maintaining a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.

• Collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve unusual system-operation, maintenance, and warranty issues.

• Work closely with Project Managers and Operations Managers on project coordination, quality, scope changes, schedules, budgets, and customer satisfaction.

• Identify potential project risks, communicate them to appropriate stakeholders, and support mitigation strategies to control costs and project timelines.

• Recommend improvements related to product performance, installation techniques, technical standards, and customer experience.

• Mentor less experienced technicians and, when required, supervise personnel performing testing, tuning, and equipment adjustments.

• Perform additional technical and operational responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3–5 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in electronic security, fire alarm, life-safety, or field service environments.

• Demonstrated ability to install and program access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems.

• Solid technical knowledge of electronic security and/or fire alarm systems, with strong programming and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including experience using hand and power tools and working with electrical and electronic equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical drawings.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to perform calculations involving measurements and electrical concepts when required.

• Advanced computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with relevant technical software.

• Exceptional customer-service orientation and the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.

• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and project-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to identify problems, develop practical solutions, and escalate only the most complex issues when appropriate.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel regularly to local job sites; limited overnight travel may occasionally be required.

• Product- or industry-specific certifications are a plus, including certifications related to Software House, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, AMAG, Milestone, ONSSI, or AXIS systems.
