What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Senior Core Software Engineer at Beyond Sports, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the resilience, scalability, and integrity of our global backend platforms. You will lead high-severity production incident responses, perform root cause analyses, and develop long-term solutions that keep our live systems operating seamlessly.

Each day, you’ll collaborate with backend developers, infrastructure specialists, and product teams to safeguard our production environments. You’ll be hands-on: diving deep into distributed systems, debugging complex core codebase issues, optimizing database queries, and managing live data streaming pipelines.

You will work to build preventative monitoring and proactive automation. Whether you are crafting automated end-to-end integration scripts, establishing robust alerting pipelines in Grafana or Prometheus, or mentoring junior team members on operational best practices, you’ll be an essential pillar in maintaining world-class system reliability. Tech Stack and Skill Requirements

You don’t need to tick every box, but here’s what we’re looking for:

- Experience: Proven track record operating and troubleshooting distributed systems at scale.

- Infrastructure & Cloud: Strong experience with AWS (ECS, CDK, Lambda, Cognito, CloudFront) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows.

- Real-time Data: Practical experience handling streaming architectures like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

- Programming & DBs: Proficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., C# .NET) to debug codebases, paired with strong SQL and database optimization skills.

- Observability: Hands-on experience with monitoring frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog.

- CI/CD & Automation: Good understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and scripting for automated integration testing.

- Bonus: Direct experience working in real-time sports technology or media streaming architectures.
