What the employer wrote

Wachter's greatest asset is the people who work here. Join the Wachter family and chart your career path!  Wachter is accepting applications for Project Manager positions in the Wachter Technology Solutions Project Management department at our Mt. Laurel, NJ office. This is an office-based role focused on the business side of low voltage projects: scheduling, purchasing, billing, permitting, and documentation.  Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience managing or coordinating low voltage technology projects such as structured cabling, access control, CCTV, audio video, and Wi-Fi deployments, ideally in new construction across single and multi-site operations.  We seek self-motivated and reliable candidates who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. Long-term employment with competitive pay and exceptional benefits for qualified candidates. We value relationships and invest in our employees.

Is This Role a Fit? This role is a fit if you have worked on the contractor side of low voltage projects and know how a job moves from bid to closeout: submittals, purchase orders, permits, inspections, and billing. Understanding of project lifecycle of a traditional LV project is a plus!

This role is NOT a fit if your experience is mainly in IT infrastructure or network administration (routing, switching, servers, or help desk), or in project management outside the low voltage and construction industry. Those are valuable skills, but they are not what this position needs.

Benefits Package: Company Paid! • Medical, Dental, Prescription & Vision Benefits

• Life, AD&D, and LTD insurance

• Paid Vacation and Holidays

• MD Live & TriaHealth

• Company-Matched 401(k) and IRA Retirement Savings

• Per-Diem paid when overnight travel is required

Requirements • At least 2 years' experience managing or coordinating low voltage projects (structured cabling, access control, CCTV, AV, Wi-Fi, or similar), preferably in new construction.

• Familiarity with low voltage project documents: bid specifications, engineered drawings, construction take-offs, submittals, and closeout packages.

• Knowledge of logistics and procurement, including purchase orders and vendor coordination.

• Experience with project scheduling and billing in a contracting environment.

• Previous experience in data entry.

• Working experience with the Microsoft 365 suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.

• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, verbal and written.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks.

• Ability to work in a strong cross-functional team.

Responsibilities • Manage daily operational tasks for multiple low voltage projects at the same time.

• Provide logistical project support.

• Create and maintain project files.

• Manage project scheduling and billing.

• Assist the team with data collection.

• Coordinate and manage purchase orders and invoices.

• Organize, update, and maintain necessary documentation.

• Participate in and implement process improvement activities to improve the program team's efficiency.

• Manage the process of sourcing, evaluating, and estimating selected bid opportunities.

• Maintain a high standard of quality and professionalism.

• Manage and delegate through team resources.

• Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein, but which your supervisor may assign.

• Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the Company and OSHA.
