Senior Accountant

What the role involves

• Independently manage and control the general ledger

• Reconcile general ledger accounts with analytical records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank statements, fixed assets, and travel orders

• Prepare, control, submit, and reconcile tax records and all monthly tax returns (e.g., VAT, VAT-S, VAT-ZP) to the tax authorities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all required tax documents

• Calculate and record depreciation, interest, foreign exchange differences, and accruals

• Monitor and apply laws and regulations in the fields of accounting, finance, and taxation

• Prepare reports according to management instructions, including submissions to the Croatian National Bank (HNB), the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), and other regulatory bodies

• Perform regular reconciliations with customers and suppliers

• Assist with other operational tasks within the accounting and finance department as needed

What we are looking for

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting

• Proficient in MS Office applications

• Strong analytical thinking and a systematic approach to problem-solving

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Advanced proficiency in English
