What the employer wrote
At SOFICO , we’re building the future of mobility through Miles, our market-leading platform for leasing, fleet, and mobility operations worldwide. As an international team, we combine innovation, collaboration, and ownership to deliver real impact for our customers, in a culture of continuous learning, mutual support, and shared success.
SOFICO is investing in the platform behind Miles. We are moving from a model where customers host Miles themselves to one where we run it for them, on SOFICO Cloud: standardized, single-tenant environments in Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Our customers are leasing companies, captive finance companies, and banks. The platform they move onto has to carry their operational demands and the regulatory obligations they work under.
From our Ghent office , you will define the architecture and technical strategy for SOFICO Cloud and the shared platform that powers Miles . As the leading authority on platform infrastructure, you will drive alignment in two key directions. Internally, you will set the architectural vision and guide our platform and product teams. Externally, you will represent and advocate that vision to customers, as well as to their security, risk, and audit stakeholders.
What you’ll do ...
This role combines platform architecture leadership with a strong customer-facing dimension . As the architectural authority for SOFICO Cloud , you will not only shape the future of our cloud platform but also serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them understand our infrastructure strategy, design decisions, and roadmap.
Key responsibilities
• Define and own the target architecture and strategic roadmap for SOFICO Cloud and the shared platform services that underpin Miles . You will steer the architectural vision across both Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure .
• Drive consistency across a large fleet of isolated, single-tenant customer environments by creating a platform experience that feels unified. This includes standardized upgrades, controlled configuration management, reliable observability, and continuous cost optimization at scale.
• Ensure that migrating to SOFICO Cloud delivers tangible operational benefits for customers. The infrastructure, security, resilience, and business continuity responsibilities they entrust to us must be managed with excellence.
• Act as the primary architectural spokesperson for SOFICO Cloud , confidently explaining and defending design choices to customers, as well as their security, risk, compliance, and audit teams. Use these interactions to influence and refine the platform roadmap.
• Establish the architectural foundations on which product teams build, defining standards for Kubernetes, networking, identity and access management, databases, storage, messaging, observability, and service-to-service communication.
• Champion non-functional excellence across the platform and products, driving improvements in availability, scalability, performance, security, operability, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency.
• Own architecture decisions from concept through implementation, facilitating reviews, evaluating trade-offs, managing exceptions, and maintaining decision records that provide long-term clarity and guidance.
• Shape how infrastructure is provisioned and evolved through Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, and automation, ensuring that platform changes are repeatable, controlled, and audit-ready.
• Help establish platform architecture as a core discipline within SOFICO by defining standards, leading architecture reviews, and fostering stronger infrastructure expertise across architects and engineering teams.
What you bring ...
• Senior-level experience in platform and cloud architecture for an enterprise product.
• A track record designing and running production SaaS or cloud-native platforms at scale.
• The ability to get decisions closed through influence. You carry the mandate for platform architecture, with a clear escalation path.
• Credibility with regulated customers. You are comfortable in a room with a customer's security, risk and audit teams, and you can answer their questions about our architecture directly.
• Confidenc e setting technical direction and standards across teams that don’t report to you, and the appetite to bring other architects and engineers along with you.
• The judgement to sequence change well. Our customers run their business on Miles, so platform change gets planned, communicated and delivered without disruption to them.
Knowledge & Skills
Must have :
• Kubernetes and container platforms: AKS, workload architecture, cluster networking, storage, operators.
• Solid Azure experience , plus the confidence to make architectural decisions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Prior OCI exposure is a plus.

• Running multi-customer platforms: tenant isolation, secrets management, fleet-wide upgrades.
• Security by design : identity and access management, secrets, certificates, network security, least privilege.
• Observability and resilience at fleet scale: monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• The assurance context our customers work in: DORA, ISO 27001, audit rights, continuity and exit expectations.
• Data and integration infrastructure : PostgreSQL, Oracle, Kafka, and the persistence and streaming.
• Secure connectivity between cloud and on-premise or customer-hosted environments, since parts of Miles Enterprise run there.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; you work directly with platform engineering, product, security, operations, and customers.
Bonus points:
• Cloud cost optimisation experience.
What's in it for you…
• Competitive salary package.
• Meal allowance provided per working day.
