Senior Software Engineer (JAVA)

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in JAVA to lead the design and development of mission-critical systems across our domain. You will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers within a high-performing team.   Does this sound like the kind of work you’d enjoy? Then feel free to apply, we'd love to hear from you.

You will be: • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex software solutions from requirements gathering and architecture design to development, testing, and production deployment;

• Own and drive long-term technical initiatives and architectural improvements across systems;

• Spotting gaps or unclear requirements early and proactively reaching out to the right teams for answers;  

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals;

• Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable design patterns;

• Balancing multiple priorities at once, new features, production issues, support requests, and releases;  

• Operating day-to-day within the project tools, codebase, infrastructure, and processes as part of the project team.  

You will need: • 5-7+ years of experience as a software engineer;

• Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot), Apache Kafka, and microservices architecture;  

• Confidence navigating and contributing to large, unfamiliar codebases;  

• Solid understanding of messaging protocols and data mapping;  

• Financial services background would be considered as advantage;  

• Experience working in regulated or institutional environments;  

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar);  

• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools;  

• Ability to work independently and drive things forward;  

• Exelent communication skills with a proactive, speak-up mindset.  

Nice to have: • React.js experience is a plus;

• FIX protocol experience;  

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS);

• Docker/containerisation experience.
