  Liquid Personnel is recruiting a  Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s  Assessment & Intervention team, based in Gateshead.  

We are a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes for families across the borough.

As a Social Worker within the Assessment & Intervention Team, you will play a key role in undertaking assessments, identifying risks, and delivering timely interventions to support children and their families. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with partner agencies to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

What will your responsibilities be?  

• Deliver a high-quality statutory social work service in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, and Gateshead Council policies.

• Undertake child and family assessments, including Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and risk assessments.

• Develop and implement child-centred plans to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

• Work directly with children and families, building effective relationships to support positive change.

• Manage a varied caseload and ensure timely interventions are delivered in accordance with service expectations.

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, police, and other professionals.

• Prepare court statements, reports, and assessments as required.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with professional standards and statutory requirements.

• Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:  

To be successful in this role you must have;  

• Social Work England registration.

• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Social Work.

• Post-qualified experience within Children's Services.

• Experience completing assessments and managing child protection and safeguarding cases.

• Strong communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
