Accountabilities • Define brand strategy and positioning: Translate consumer insights, product strengths, and competitive dynamics into a clear target customer, differentiated positioning, value proposition, messaging hierarchy, and compelling launch narratives.
• Lead brand storytelling across channels: Ensure the brand story is consistently and creatively expressed across packaging, digital, retail, organic content, communications, launches, and the broader customer experience.
• Build cultural relevance and community: Develop organic content, creator and influencer relationships, partnerships, events, activations, and community programs that strengthen participation, awareness, and brand affinity.
• Establish brand standards: Own and evolve the brand strategy, voice, identity, creative direction, and standards to create a distinctive and recognizable presence across customer touchpoints.
• Build the Brand organization: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team across creative, organic social, content, community, partnerships, and activations, while establishing effective agency and partner relationships.
• Drive annual brand planning: Own the annual brand plan, marketing calendar, awareness budget, campaign priorities, and investment decisions in alignment with broader commercial objectives.
• Raise creative and operational performance: Establish a higher creative bar while improving speed, reducing rework, and creating an operating model that enables teams and partners to execute effectively.
• Connect brand to business growth: Use consumer insight, data, and commercial judgment to prioritize initiatives that build awareness, preference, participation, and measurable business impact.
Requirements
• Senior brand leadership experience: Significant experience leading brand functions within a high-growth consumer business, ideally in CPG, health, wellness, performance, or a closely related category.
• Exceptional storytelling and positioning: Demonstrated ability to turn consumer insight, product truth, and competitive context into compelling propositions, narratives, and launches that contribute to product and business success.
• Proven brand-building track record: Experience developing distinctive brands and leading integrated campaigns, activations, communications, and experiences with measurable impact.
• Strong creative judgment: Ability to set a high creative standard and effectively direct designers, writers, content teams, agencies, and other creative partners without needing to be the primary creator.
• Team-building leadership: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, establish clear standards, and improve both quality and execution speed.
• Omnichannel expertise: Experience across direct-to-consumer, retail, packaging, product launches, digital channels, and broader consumer experiences.
• Commercial and analytical mindset: Ability to use consumer insights and data to inform decisions while balancing analysis with strong judgment, creativity, and decisive action.
• Executive presence and ownership: Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, founder-led environment where candor, resourcefulness, accountability, and initiative are highly valued.
• Strategic and operational versatility: Able to move fluidly between setting long-term brand direction, making investment decisions, challenging creative work, and building the organization required to execute the strategy.
