Accountabilities • Deliver engaging remote instruction aligned with NCCER Ironworking curriculum, standards, and credentialing requirements.
• Teach foundational and advanced topics including structural steel, reinforcing steel, rigging, tools, equipment, work practices, and job-site safety.
• Translate practical ironworking techniques and industry knowledge into clear, accessible instructional content.
• Prepare students for NCCER assessments and support them in meeting relevant credentialing requirements.
• Monitor and document student participation, progress, coursework completion, and training outcomes.
• Answer student questions and provide individualized coaching, clarification, and additional guidance when needed.
• Maintain accurate training records, instructional materials, and other required documentation.
• Follow established curriculum requirements, instructional procedures, and applicable training standards.
• Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement, skill development, and successful completion of training.
Requirements
• Current or previous NCCER Instructor Certification is strongly preferred.
• Professional experience as an Ironworker, Ironworker Foreman, Superintendent, Trainer, or in a comparable skilled-trades role.
• Strong practical knowledge of structural ironworking, reinforcing steel, rigging, tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Previous experience training, mentoring, coaching, or instructing workers or apprentices is preferred.
• Ability to deliver effective instruction in a fully remote environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and hands-on concepts clearly.
• Ability to adapt explanations and teaching approaches to different levels of learner understanding.
• Reliable availability throughout the Monday–Friday workweek.
• Strong organization and attention to detail when managing student progress and instructional documentation.
• Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others develop practical trade skills.
