Accountabilities • Write timely movie news:  Produce original, engaging articles covering the latest movie news, announcements, releases, developments, and industry stories while following the publication’s established editorial style.

• Research and fact-check:  Verify information carefully and ensure published stories are accurate, relevant, and supported by reliable sources.

• Prepare content for publication:  Handle formatting, internal and external linking, image sourcing, and basic image editing such as resizing and brightness adjustments.

• Pitch original ideas:  Proactively identify compelling movie news and story opportunities and pitch them to the editorial team.

• Maintain consistent output:  Contribute regularly and reliably to support a steady flow of fresh entertainment coverage.

• Meet editorial standards:  Follow established editorial guidelines while maintaining originality, quality, accuracy, and an engaging writing style.

• Monitor breaking news:  Stay informed about the latest movie developments and prioritize stories that are timely and relevant to readers.

• Work to deadlines:  Manage multiple assignments effectively and deliver polished articles within tight turnaround times.

• Collaborate with the editorial team:  Respond to feedback, participate in training and peer mentorship, and continuously improve content quality.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience  writing entertainment-related content for a recognized digital publication or comparable media outlet.

• Journalism or related education:  Academic background in journalism, communications, English, media, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong movie knowledge:  Demonstrated enthusiasm for film and the ability to stay consistently up to date with movie news, releases, casting, production developments, and industry trends.

• Digital writing expertise:  Ability to create compelling, accessible, and publication-ready content for an online audience.

• Editorial judgment:  Strong fact-checking, research, proofreading, and attention-to-detail skills.

• SEO knowledge:  Familiarity with SEO principles and their application to digital editorial content.

• CMS experience:  Experience working with a custom content management system is preferred.

• Deadline management:  Comfortable working quickly and accurately under tight deadlines.

• Communication and teamwork:  Highly motivated, dependable, receptive to feedback, and comfortable collaborating with editors and other contributors.

• Originality:  Ability to develop unique story angles and pitches rather than simply reproducing existing coverage.

• Content integrity:  Willingness to follow editorial standards regarding originality and permitted content-production practices.
