Accountabilities: • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities for clients, including bill payments, account reconciliations, expense documentation, supporting documentation, invoicing, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and budgeting, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and aligned with applicable accounting standards.
• Conduct financial analysis to support client decision-making, identify trends, and provide useful insights.
• Help implement, maintain, and improve financial platforms, processes, and workflows based on individual client needs.
• Provide responsive, thoughtful client communication, answering questions, sharing updates, and proactively addressing operational needs.
• Build trusted working relationships with clients through reliable service, clear communication, and a flexible approach.
• Support administrative activities and special projects as needed across the client portfolio.
• Collaborate with senior team members and internal stakeholders to ensure client work is completed accurately and on time.
• Adapt to evolving client requirements and organizational priorities while maintaining high standards of service and attention to detail.
• Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes, resolve issues, and support clients beyond routine responsibilities.
• Perform other operational, financial, administrative, and analytical duties as assigned.
Requirements
• At least 3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Experience working effectively as part of a remote team.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer or client service and develop strong professional relationships.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel .
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and completeness in financial work.
• Willingness to assist with a broad range of operational needs and take ownership of tasks through completion.
• Ability to work effectively in an evolving environment, embrace change, and proactively identify ways to maintain service quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and respond thoughtfully to client questions.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• A collaborative, flexible, and self-directed approach to working with clients and colleagues.
• Preferred: 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Preferred: Extensive QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel experience or relevant certification.
• Preferred: Experience with Google Workspace, Asana, Keeper, and Slack.
• Preferred: Interest in supporting mission-driven organizations and causes such as women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, climate action, voter protection, immigration reform, healthcare access, and equal rights.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Benefits
• Full-time position with an annual salary of $55,000–$65,000 , depending on qualifications and experience.
