Accountabilities • Act as a key point of knowledge for Indian legislative, regulatory, privacy, and corporate governance requirements, providing practical guidance to stakeholders.

• Monitor changes in Indian legislation and regulation, assess their potential business impact, and coordinate appropriate actions with relevant teams.

• Maintain the India compliance obligations framework and regulatory calendar, ensuring requirements, ownership, actions, and supporting evidence remain accurate and up to date.

• Support compliance with Indian data protection and privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and associated rules.

• Support corporate and company-secretarial compliance activities, including board and general meeting requirements, statutory filings, resolutions, registrations, licenses, and renewals.

• Work closely with HR, Finance, IT, Information Security, and operational teams to identify obligations and support their effective implementation.

• Identify actual or potential compliance gaps and provide recommendations, constructive challenge, and escalation where appropriate.

• Prepare clear reporting on compliance activities, regulatory developments, risks, issues, remediation actions, and overall compliance status.

• Support and conduct internal compliance, management-system, audit, and assurance activities, while monitoring corrective and improvement actions through completion.

• Help establish, maintain, communicate, and periodically review policies, procedures, controls, and governance documentation.

• Support supplier compliance and due-diligence activities, including reviewing relevant contractual terms, NDAs, and compliance considerations.

• Support the India Risk Management Guild and contribute to the wider enterprise risk management framework and compliance initiatives.

• Build strong relationships across the organisation to promote effective cooperation, accountability, and a positive compliance culture.

• Contribute to broader compliance, governance, risk, and assurance projects while providing support to senior compliance leadership.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and take ownership of new initiatives as regulatory and business requirements evolve.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of practical experience in compliance, governance, legal, company secretarial, regulatory, or a closely related role within India.

• Strong working knowledge of Indian legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance practices.

• Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and communicate complex legislative and regulatory requirements in clear, practical language.

• Experience monitoring regulatory developments and translating changes into actionable business requirements.

• Knowledge of Indian data protection and privacy requirements, particularly the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and related rules.

• Experience maintaining compliance registers, regulatory calendars, governance records, policies, procedures, and controls.

• Strong analytical, organisational, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.

• Confidence in providing constructive challenge, identifying concerns, and escalating compliance issues appropriately.

• Experience creating, adapting, or implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Ability to understand and interpret relevant contractual terms and conditions.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with digital collaboration tools.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain adaptable in a changing environment.

• Experience with internal audit, ISO management systems, enterprise risk management, or supplier due diligence would be advantageous.

• A curious, proactive, resilient mindset with strong ownership and a genuine interest in understanding the business impact behind regulatory requirements.
