What the employer wrote

About the Position

Our Creative Engagement (CE) team builds digital products and experiences that shape how the world meets Jane Street, including our website, Figgie, and a growing set of recruiting and internal apps. We're looking for a Product Manager to help drive where that portfolio goes next.

You'll guide the product strategy and roadmap across these products–influencing what we build next, understanding why it matters, and defining what success looks like. You'll partner closely with designers, engineers, recruiters, external partners, and others across the business, and be a hands-on user of everything we ship.

Additional responsibilities of the role will include:

• Managing the product lifecycle, strategy, and roadmap across CE's digital products and helping the team make the tradeoffs that come from being a small team with a broad and growing surface area

• Taking fuzzy ideas from internal partners (Recruiting, Trading, Tech) and translating them into clear, well-scoped projects

• Spotting gaps and opportunities for new products and experiences, and partnering with the team to decide which are worth pursuing

• Driving rapid prototyping, getting rough versions in front of users early, and iterating based on what you observe, not what you assumed

• Running ongoing QA, catching regressions, edge cases, and bugs before our users do

• Partnering closely with Jane Street recruiters, designers, and engineers—as well as external vendors, contractors, and agencies who contribute to our products—to align priorities and balance feature requests against technical realities, tech debt, and platform investments

• Communicating clearly and often, including writing crisp specs, status updates, and release notes to keep stakeholders informed and aligned

About You

• Have 7+ years of experience shipping consumer-facing or internal digital products as a PM, ideally across both apps and the web, and across the full lifecycle from concept through maintenance

• Understand web and app development well enough to partner effectively with engineers on feasibility, architecture tradeoffs, and effort

• A strong written and verbal communicator; able to coordinate with stakeholders from across the firm and externally

• Have good product instincts; you can scope a vague request and identify what actually matters

• Comfortable operating across a portfolio and energized by context-switching from large, long-running products (like a public website) to one-off projects (like a game built to support an internal event)

• Have a generalist streak; willing to pitch in on adjacent initiatives to help the team

• Have a bias toward shipping; you'd rather get a prototype in front of users this week than a polished spec next month

• Have a care for craft and detail; you notice when something is broken, slow, or could be improved, and make sure it gets fixed

• A background in games, recruiting, or education is a plus

• Experience working with external agencies, contractors, or vendors is a plus

• Hands-on prototyping skills (Figma, low-code tools, light scripting) are a plus

If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to agency-partnerships@janestreet.com.
