What the employer wrote

Inbank is a financial technology company with an EU banking license that connects merchants, consumers, and financial institutions on its next-generation embedded finance platform. Our financing solutions are embedded seamlessly into the shopping journey of 6,000+ retailers. This helps our merchant partners grow their businesses, while end customers benefit from a frictionless shopping experience wherever they are. With a focus on innovation and growth, we are looking for talented people to join our team of 440+ working across our offices in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to become the trusted legal partner for our Czech business, based in our Prague office .

As the sole Legal Counsel in our Czech branch, you will be the trusted legal partner for the local business while working closely with our international Legal Team. You will advise Inbank Czechia on a broad range of legal matters related to our fast-growing financial services business and play a key role in supporting our continued growth in the Czech market.

Working alongside colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, you will partner with business, product, compliance, and commercial teams to provide practical legal advice, support product development, negotiate key commercial agreements, and help the business navigate the Czech regulatory landscape. You will serve as the primary legal advisor on banking, corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters within the Czech branch.

You will report to the Group General Counsel while working closely with the Czech Country Manager and the local leadership team.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for the Czech branch, providing day-to-day legal support across the business.

• Partner with the Country Manager and teams across Product, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Compliance to advise on business initiatives and strategic projects.

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements with partners, customers, and other third parties.

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to support the launch of new products and business initiatives.

• Advise on matters relating to Czech banking, consumer credit, corporate, and commercial law.

• Oversee corporate governance matters and manage legal documentation, including NDAs and Powers of Attorney.

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess their impact on the business, and provide practical recommendations.

• Identify legal and commercial risks early and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop pragmatic solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 3-5 years of previous professional legal experience in financial services, fintech, another relevant in-house legal role, or a leading law firm.

• A solid understanding of the Czech legal and regulatory framework for financial services, including banking and consumer credit.

• Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.

• The ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and communicate effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.

• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

• Excellent written and spoken Czech and English.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience working in fintech or another fast-growing, innovation-driven business.

• Experience supporting digital product launches.

• Familiarity with agile ways of working and cross-functional collaboration.

At Inbank, we believe great work deserves great rewards:

• 5 additional vacation days per year to ensure you have plenty of time to recharge.

• 6 weeks of fully paid sabbatical after 4 years of great performance at Inbank.

• Hybrid working model with the flexibility to work from home.

• Modern office in the centre of Prague where we are always happy to see you.

• Small and friendly team that values open communication and a collaborative spirit.

• Pluxee Card with a flexible benefit budget tailored to your lifestyle.

• Meal compensation to support your daily lunch breaks.
