Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Staff/Principal Systems Engineer to join the multi-disciplinary Systems Team. This role requires a seasoned professional who can guide and mentor less experienced team members, establish frameworks and processes, and drive impactful cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments and is passionate about delivering robust systems solutions that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Systems Engineering Efforts: Set the direction for systems engineering processes, frameworks, and methodologies. Own the development of clear, scalable, and effective systems engineering practices within the team and company.

- Define systems engineering objectives and roadmap. Navigate and resolve ambiguity in project scopes, requirements, and priorities. Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies in complex, undefined scenarios.

- Mentorship and Leadership. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced systems engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence. Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in systems engineering, project management, and problem-solving.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, software, hardware, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of systems solutions.

- Autonomy & Domain Knowledge: Quickly get up to speed with the necessary domain knowledge, contributing to the team with minimal guidance while continuously enhancing your expertise.

Qualifications:

- Technical skills

- Strong systems engineering skills, including systems engineering methodology, requirements management, safety analysis, and system verification and validation.

- Ability to work in a highly autonomous role, set clear goals, and take initiative to drive results in an ambiguous environment, driving cross-functional teams towards technical goals.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing systems engineering frameworks and processes.

- Experience with requirement management tools (e.g. Polarian, DOORS, Jama) and system modelling tools (e.g. SysML, MagicDraw).

- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other systems engineers.

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and how they relate to systems engineering.

- Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO26262, SOTIF, etc.

- Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related role, with experience in a senior or leadership capacity.

- Soft skills

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity.

- A passion for continuous learning and the ability to quickly acquire domain-specific knowledge.

Bonus Skills

- Expertise in systems architecture, network infrastructure, and system integration.

- Experience with verification test case management and traceability tools

- Experience with simulation tools

- Experience in engineering/robotics domains, working with distributed systems consisting of hardware, software, and cloud-based applications.

- Familiarity with INCOSE, ASEP, CSEP certification
