How you can help make a better world of work

You're a strategic thinker with deep expertise in corporate law, governance and leadership, ready to lead and inspire a high-performing legal team. As General Counsel & Company Secretary you'll serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and Board, ensuring legal, regulatory and governance excellence across the business.

In this role, you'll own Culture Amp's global legal strategy while leading the Directors of Legal (Commercial, and Product & Privacy). You'll be central to managing corporate governance frameworks, supporting the Board and its committees, and advising on high-stakes calls including AI adoption, capital raises, M&A and major commercial contracts.

You'll bring a strong point of view on privacy, using your judgement on where AI can safely support legal work such as contract review, drafting and research, without compromising on rigour. Your leadership will shape a legal function that helps the business move fast without losing sight of risk.

This is a rare opportunity to combine your legal expertise, governance experience and people leadership in a role with genuine influence over how Culture Amp scales. You'll work closely with a global business, and your comfort operating in ambiguity, setting risk tolerance, and advising senior stakeholders will set you apart.

Duties and responsibilities (Accountabilities):

• Lead Culture Amp's legal strategy end to end, balancing risk management with business goals.

• Act as Company Secretary, running governance for the Board and its committees and staying on top of statutory obligations.

• Advise the executive team directly on high-stakes calls: AI adoption, capital raises, M&A, regulatory compliance and major commercial contracts.

• Lead and grow the global legal team, including the Directors of Legal (Commercial, and Product & Privacy), lifting the whole function's service and capability.

• Own risk management and GRC, setting the framework and cadence that keeps risk visible to the exec team and Board.

• Own the company's global privacy strategy, keeping data protection compliant and enabling privacy-first product work.

• Champion a culture of trust and pragmatism, balancing proactive risk mitigation with enabling business growth.

Qualifications, experience and knowledge required:

• 15+ years PQE, with deep corporate law and governance expertise, ideally in-house in SaaS or technology-driven industries.

• A proven track record advising boards and executive teams on complex legal, compliance and regulatory issues.

• Practical experience using AI in legal work (contract review, drafting, research), with good judgement on where it's safe to lean on it and where it isn't.

• Strong knowledge of global privacy law and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act), with comfort setting risk tolerance in ambiguity.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a high-performing legal team.

• Strong drafting skills, with the ability to produce precise, accessible documentation including contracts, policies and governance materials.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the highest levels.

• Experience leading a Governance, Risk, and Compliance function, including familiarity with AI Governance frameworks (e.g. ISO42001)
