About Cognism

As part of our engineering transformation, we are building a strategic Warsaw Engineering Hub that will become one of Cognism's two primary technology centres.  

About the Role  

As a Senior Platform Engineer / SRE, you will build and operate the cloud platform that enables Cognism engineering teams to deliver software safely, reliably and at scale. You will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, developer experience, automation and operational excellence. This is a hands-on engineering role where reliability is treated as a product and automation is the default approach.  

What You'll Do  

• Design, build and continuously improve Cognism's cloud platform running on AWS.  

• Develop Infrastructure as Code using modern automation practices.  

• Build and maintain Kubernetes platforms supporting engineering teams globally.  

• Improve deployment pipelines, CI/CD workflows and developer productivity.  

• Drive observability through monitoring, logging, alerting and distributed tracing.  

• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis and reliability improvements.  

• Partner with Engineering, Security and Architecture teams to improve platform resilience.  

• Identify opportunities for cloud optimisation and FinOps improvements.  

• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices for infrastructure and operations.  

 

Technology Environment  

• AWS (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3 and supporting services)  

• Kubernetes and Docker  

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code  

• GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling  

• Observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry)  

• Linux and networking fundamentals  

 

What Success Looks Like  

• Engineering teams deploy software faster with greater confidence.  

• Platform reliability and availability continue to improve.  

• Operational toil is reduced through automation.  

• Cloud costs are optimised without compromising reliability.  

• Platform standards are adopted consistently across engineering teams.  

 

Required Experience  

• 5+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOps.  

• Hands-on AWS experience in production environments.  

• Strong Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting skills.  

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.  

• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent.  

• Experience operating production systems with high availability requirements.  

• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash or similar).  

• Excellent communication skills and fluent English.  

 

Nice to Have  

• Kafka or distributed event streaming platforms.  

• Service Mesh technologies.  

• FinOps experience.  

• Security hardening of cloud platforms.  

• Experience with AI-powered engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
