Position Overview At ANS, we’re not just a consulting engineering firm—we’re a team of trailblazers shaping the future of multi-disciplinary engineering. We’ve been voted Best Places to Work, ranked in the Top 10 Hottest Firms in the U.S. by Zweig Group, and named to the Top 250 of the 2024 Inc. 5000 with 1,748% three-year growth. Our team is dynamic, energetic, and allergic to bureaucracy in our mission to solve problems and get things done.  We are data- and metric-driven, frequently question the “why,” and build better, smarter processes. If you love collaboration, innovation, and a fast-paced environment, you might be our perfect match.  About the Role  We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to support the project accounting lifecycle. Specifically, this role will be responsible for performing recurring accounting procedures, supporting engineering project managers with maintaining project data within the systems-of-record (e.g., NetSuite), as well as applying overtime revenue recognition methodologies to meet US GAAP and reporting objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of using data/reports from ERP systems to provide finance insights and support accounting conclusions (i.e., revenue calculations). As Project Accounting at ANS is inherently reliant on this source data, the ideal candidate will understand data integrity risks and be prepared to assist with developing best practices, providing coaching, and performing internal controls-each in coordination with the broader accounting team. We welcome candidates with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience who are eager to grow in a supportive environment. Flexibility: from a growth perspective, over time this role would be able to either expand to own broader revenue recognition matters impacting the company or gain experience with other operational and corporate accounting areas of interest. What You’ll Do: Collaborate with project accounting leadership to perform recurring accounting procedures, in connection with month-end-close and as part of the day-to-day Review the data underlying revenue calculations to ensure accurate and updated timely (e.g., contract value/sales order amounts, cost budgets, actual costs applied, labor hours) Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations utilizing percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies Analyze work-in-progress schedules and investigate/resolve project variances, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, and data validation errors Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation for project accounting audit areas Develop and enhance project accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting capabilities within NetSuite as ANS continues its process maturity journey Provide leadership and coaching of junior team members and interns Must-Haves: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Passion for continuous improvement Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation Travel is expected to be minimal but may occasionally include team off-sites, conferences, training opportunities, or visits to other ANS offices. Nice-to-Haves: Specialized higher education with an accounting focus CPA, CPA in-process, or other relevant licensure Experience with NetSuite, Pipedrive, Monday.com Overtime revenue recognition experience (i.e., project accounting/percentage-of-completion) Industry experience with engineering, construction, or other services organizations Public accounting firm experience
